Student Stories: Umarah's Journey with New Futures Training

1 MIN READ / October 16, 2025

Our Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care equips graduates with the practical skills to work in a variety of early childhood settings. We recently spoke with Umarah about her experience studying the course with New Futures Training.

Tell us how you came to New Futures Training.

I first heard about New Futures Training from a friend who had completed her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care there and spoke very highly of her experience. Having worked as a teacher in Pakistan, I was inspired by her story and decided to enrol so I could return to working with children and continue my passion for education here in Australia.

How was your placement experience?

It was amazing! I learned so many new things from the educators and supervisors. It was great to put everything I learned in class into practice in a real-world setting. I also feel more confident during the job-hunting process, as I now know what to expect.

What do you think about New Futures Training?

I’ve had such a positive experience at New Futures Training. The staff are supportive and approachable, always encouraging students to do their best. I felt welcomed from the very beginning and made great friends, which made settling into Melbourne so much easier.

What was your favourite part of your course?

My trainer, Joylyn! She was the highlight of the course—so patient, caring, and supportive throughout the journey.
