Certificate IV in Disability Support

Develop the skills to provide personal, physical, and emotional support to people living with a disability.

Disability support workers provide personal, physical and emotional support to people with a disability who require assistance with daily living. This qualification will equip you with the skills to support clients to meet their goals, and to empower them to participate in the community. There is strong growth projected for jobs in disability and aged care. (Job Outlook)

  • Classroom based - approximately 34–40 weeks (including holidays)
  • Flexible - approximately 26–42 weeks (including holidays)

Course Prerequisites:

To study this qualification, students will need to have completed one of the following qualifications or sets of qualifications:

  • CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability)
  • CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) PLUS CHCSS00098 Individual Support - Disability Skill Set
  • CHC30408 Certificate III in Disability PLUS the CHCSS00125 Entry to Certificate IV in Disability Support Skill Set

Placement


You will need to complete a minimum 80 hours of placement.

Practical placement is organised by New Futures Training.
