Bandana's Reflection in Lockdown

0 MIN READ / October 12, 2021

I was definitely more connected than before COVID. Life was still challenging, but the constant support from my family made me feel so comfortable.

As my work is more about face-to-face connections with students and colleagues, I was not sure if we could still connect so well.

There were many times where students were so anxious about various aspects of their course. Such as: duration, extension, course deferral, their outstanding fees, completion and getting certificates on time or letters to state their course status.

We managed well by continuously being in touch with students, providing extra support and understanding their needs.

We have built better communication and coordination between staff, we’ve learnt using SharePoint, and online file server, where work can be done more efficiently and dynamically.

Using Teams chat and channels works really well too, we are able to work quicker.

I am also able to work more closely with various departments and this has given me opportunities to coordinate, explore and understand their work environment even better.

We have such amazing teamwork and supportive colleagues here at VICSEG New Futures. If we want to share any updates we would just hold a quick ZOOM meeting and information is shared/discussed.
