Swapna’s Story

2 MIN READ / June 27, 2022

I was born in India and grew up in Qatar. While in Doha, I did my Bachelors in Business Administration and graduated in the airline industry. I first worked in a travel agency and then moved across and worked for Jet Airways as a Sales Coordinator. I worked in the airline industry for about 5 years and then I got married in 2011 to an amazing person. My partner has been in IT industry for more than 15 years. When we arrived in Australia the environment was completely different. I started to look for jobs in the airline and business industries but unfortunately I didn’t get any jobs due to my visa status plus I required local experience.

So, I made the decision that I would like to try teaching. I researched many centres who could teach me the course. After a while I found New Futures Training. They guided me through with lots of support and patience for almost two years. I did Certificate III in Childhood Education and Care and the Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

When I graduated, I started my career with a teacher’s agency for four months and got an opportunity to work with a sessional kindergarten. I worked as an educator and room leader for 11 years. Currently I am working as a Director in a primary school.

I am very thankful and grateful for VICSEG staff who have been very cooperative, easy going and very supportive. They have always been there to help me out. Hats off to the Instructors who took time for me during their busy schedule, to clarify the questions I was unsure about. When you attend classes, instructors explains each and every bit of the chapter with an example and it makes you understand much better.

VICSEG has changed my life and my career has always grown happily.
